1) Will the V4 Granturismo equip the new Multistrada V4?
Yes, the V4 Granturismo engine will equip the new Multistrada V4 that will be unveiled
on 4/11/2021
2) What’s the reason that moved Ducati to have a V4 engine on a travel enduro motorcycle
like the Multistrada?
Ducati R&D made many evaluations when they had to define the engine layout for the 4th
generation of Multistrada and the final result is that the V4 layout is the ideal layout for a
travel enduro bike in terms of balance between performance, smoothness, regularity at
low rpm, compact dimensions and low weight.
3) Is the complete Multistrada family going to be equipped only by 4 cylinder engines?
No, the Multistrada family will include V2 and V4 models, as it is currently for the
Panigale family.
4) Why did Ducati moved from desmodromic valvetrain to spring valvetrain?
Our initial target was to increase considerably maintenance service intervals, especially
valve clearance check intervals, in order to reduce the maintenance costs and the
frequency for maintenance stops. Another benefit that comes from the spring valvetrain
is to increase engine regularity at low rpm, that was one of the key target in developing
the V4 Granturismo.
5) Is Ducati going to leave the desmodromic valvetrain at all in the future?
No, it’s not. The desmodromic valvetrain remains the best solutions for sports or racing
engines, where the engine most common working conditions are at high revs and high
loads.
6) Why won’t Multistrada V4 feature the Desmosedici Stradale engine?
The missions and the conditions of use of a Panigale and a Multistrada are completely
different and the two different engines are the best solutions for each one of them.
7) Is valvetrain the only difference between Desmosedici Stradale and V4 Granturismo?
No, it’s not. While the V4 Granturismo shares its overall layout together with precise
technical choices with the Desmosedici Stradale, it has also been designed and developed
specifically to perfectly combine Ducati sportiness with great capability and versatility.
8) Why doesn’t V4 Granturismo deliver 200 hp or more?
It wouldn’t make any sense to have a racing engine with more than 200 hp on a
motorcycle like the Multistrada V4. 170 hp is the perfect balance for an engine that has to
be smooth, confidence-inspiring and enjoyable in urban, touring or off-road conditions
and, at the same time, thrilling and exciting when you want to have your sporty ride on a
twisty mountain road.
9) Will this V4 Granturismo be noisy? Will it be Tirolo recent regulation-compliant?
The Multistrada V4 that features the V4 Granturismo engine is homologated in
compliance with the Euro 5 emission and noise regulations like all the other Ducati new
models Ducati will sell in Europe from 2021. The exhaust of this specific model has been
developed to take more than in previous Multistrada generations into account the needs
of the travel customer. For this reason the sound level is generally less prominent thanother Ducati models. This results also, as a side benefit, to a reduced sound emission
when tested in neutral gear like some regions are doing, like Tirolo for example. In this
particular test the sound emission is below 95 dBA.
10) How does V4 Granturismo performs if compared with the BMW GS 1250 engine?
The V4 Granturismo features extreme smoothness at low rpm and it’s round and
confidence-inspiring. At the same time the torque at rear wheel is always plentiful, and,
when it revs at mid to high rpm, it gets thrilling and Ducati 100%.
11) What’s exactly the maintenance plan of the new V4 Granturismo?
Valve clearance check service (valve clearance check, spark plug replacement, etc.):
60.000km
Oil service (oil change, oil filter change, air filter check, etc): 15.000 km / 2 years
Annual service (only safety check): 1 year
Take into account the fact that the spring valvetrain not only increases the service
interval but make the time needed for the service shorter.
12) How has it been possible to increase the valve clearance check service interval up to
60.000 km?
This result has been obtained thanks to the in-depth expertise Ducati acquired in the use
of materials, treatments and technical solutions developed around the Desmodromic
system. All this, applied to a spring valve return system which stresses less the
components if compared to the Desmo, brought to set an outstanding milestone never
set before by a motorcycle engine.
13) How has it been possible to increase the oil service up to 2 years (vs 1 year as it is
currently)?
A dedicated design of the engine and the range of use of the vehicle alllowed us to
increase the oil service up to 2 years, an increase that has been validated during the long
development tests.
14) What’s the level of fuel consumption of the V4 Granturismo engine?
The engine is an high performing engine with 170 hp, so the level of consumption is
adequate but, thanks to the long development activity and to its specificities, lower than
the Desmosedici Stradale’s one.
Furthermore the new Multistrada V4 will have an increased fuel tank compared ti
Multistrada 1260 to guarantee a good range.
15) What’s the level of heat generated by the V4 Granturismo engine?
The V4 Granturismo is generally thermally comfortable in any condition, thanks to the
long specific development in terms of thermal insulation, aerodynamics and exhaust
system layout into new Multistrada V4 vehicle. Furthermore the rear cylinder idle
deactivation system reduces drastically the engine heat delivery below the seat during
static riding, especially during stops at street light.

Кек, будем гудрон отскребать от мотора как в бнв-лонглайв, осталось только турбину поставить для логического завершения.

Что однозначно нравится, это поворотники находятся не на гардах. И навигация в приборе. Пока дальше хз.

Как это, был в product range описано все. И даже комплектации выкатили, мол: essential, travel, travel + radar, dynamic и все в куче. Ну как-то так...

Откровенно - ни одна мультистрада же не вызывала вау-эффекта. Циклоп, срущая утка и тд (у третьей не помню погоняло). К каждому нужно было стерпеться, слюбиться.

Этот не сказать, что уродливей предыдущего.

А еще есть модные винглеты и жабры.

Кстати тема двух радаров раскрыта? В чем их функционал (особенно заднего).

Дизайн предыдущих поколений намного гармоничней был. А тут нагромождение какое-то несочитающихся элементов. Страшный подрамник и седло от гуся влепили. Винглеты это вообще пз*ц, зачем они здесь. И цвет более или менее только в версии Sport (как раз на этом фото).

А задний радар здесь для контроля слепых зон, на зеркалах заднего вида есть лампочки-индикаторы, которые загораются.

MACARONE, у первого и третьего есть подрамник и больше двигателя открыто спереди, это визуально разгружает перед.

У нового вся бочина закрыта жабрами.

И седло на бак больше не заходит.

А в общем и целом как и остальные модели теряет свою индивидуальность в виде подрамника птичьей клетки и одностороннего маятника.

Минусы: Спорный дизайн, некрашенный клюв, минус мономаятник
Из плюсов приборка, бак, куча доработок всяких разных.

Крайне неоднозначные ощущения, надо с этим переспать)

Комплектация с радарами и слепыми зонами в рф точно бесполезна, с нашей то ездой)
